Jack A. Sims was the son of Nelson I. Sims and Dorothy Sims. His first wife's name was Frances, nicknamed Gabby, who he married on 6th july 1942. Major John Hilger was his best man. The couple had 3 children but in 1954 they divorced. 

He remarried during 1964, his second wife named Lee Adams (see picture below). They met each other in Washington DC . The couple had one daughter.

Jack A. Sims had two sisters. Mary and Margaret Sims.

By drawing these sketches, Jack Sims tried to clarify himself towards the Chinese villagers after bailing out above China on 18 April 1942.

Lieutenant Jack A. Sims was inducted into the Michigan Aviation Hall of Fame on 11 October 2003. Location of the hall @ the Air Zoo - Air Zoo Aerospace & Science Museum in Portage, Michigan.

On one of the pictures below  you see the Doolittle raiders: Lt James Macia, Lt Jack Sims, Sgt Jacob Eierman, and Major John Hilger in China, 20 April 1942.  Jack A. Sims is the second American from left. Two days before the crew bailed out above China. 

After bombing targets in Japan, the crew flew to China. When their aircraft ran out of fuel, crew member Edwin Bain, gunner, became separated from the crew and was reported missing. Nevertheless, after two days Edwin Bain reunited with his crew in a friendly Chinese village. That's why he is not in the picture of Crew 14 in China/ (picture 4 below)
